Elmira Curling Club hosted the Ontario Heart West Regional Finals on January 2nd through 4th, seeing some top-notch women's curling by such illustrious teams as Bodogh, Cadorin, Dunn, Middaugh, Rizzo, and Sherk. In a surprise run-away game in the late rounds, Dawn Sherk of the Galt Curling Club trounced two-time former Canadian Champion Marilyn Bodogh in only four ends for a shot at the "B" final. JoAnn Rizzo's team from the Brant Curling Club took the "A" final in an intense nail-biter of a match, barely defeating Sherry Middaugh's Coldwater Curling Club team, who then went on to take the "B" final from Dawn Sherk.
