Curling Tips
Who May Sweep When
Ahead of the tee line:
- Any or all members of the delivering team may sweep the delivered rock or any of their own team's rocks set in motion.
- Either the skip or the vice-skip, but not both, of the non-delivering team may sweep, and he may only sweep his own team's rocks.
Beyond the tee line:
- Only one person from each team (i.e., up to two people) may be sweeping at any time.
- Any member, but only one member at any time, of the delivering team may sweep the delivered rock or any rock set in motion.
- Either the skip or the vice-skip, but not both, of the non-delivering team may sweep the delivered rock or any rock set in motion.
- The delivering team has priority if it chooses to sweep any rock, but is not allowed to obstruct or impede the non-deliverying team's skip or vice-skip if the delivering team chooses not to sweep a rock.
- One person from each team may be sweeping the same rock, or different rocks, at the same time.
